This way you will have plenty of time to plan and prepare and make sure everything goes just right.
If you want, you can even set up a calendar system on a website and invite your friends to go and put their own birthdays on there for you. Then you don’t have to go through the trouble of asking people about their birthdays and admitting that you don’t know when they are in the first place.
Keeping track of all your birthday reminders and making sure they are well organized means you won’t have to be “that guy” who can’t be counted on. Instead, you can be “that guy” who always has a happy birthday card at the right time.
