How many times have you heard someone say they had to stay away from fast food so they can lose weight? The problem is that fast food is more convenient. It saves money, time and it’s fast.

Eating fast food can cause your calories and fat to increase considerably. The truth is it does not have to. There are other choices that can be done if you must feed yourself on the go. Stick to your diet. Stop asking for any extra sauce. This allows you to keep control.

As a matter of fact, any sauce that does come with your meal, ask for it on the side. Just dunk into the sauce. This allows you to remain in control.

Watch what you choose to drink when you decide to eat fast food. Drinking water cuts some calories in your meal of fast food. Try unsweetened tea or diet soda instead. Even salads can contribute a significant amount of calories and fat. This is especially true if you use all the dressing. Ask for light dressing.

Consider using only part of the salad dressing rather than the full packet. Ask if there is a light dressing available. Choose grilled options rather than fried whenever possible.

The bread and eggs are the fast-food breakfast. Avoid bacon and extras, and the choice will still fit in your diet plan.

The diet that works is the one that monitors calories. Most national fast food chains post the nutritional content of their menu selections on their official web sites. Check out their sites and make a mental note of the less fatty choices.

You do not have to completely abandon the fast food regime. But be smart and eat it only once a week and be careful with your choices. This will pay off well in the long run.

Choose grilled chicken sandwiches over fatty hamburgers with cheese. Choose chili or salad instead of fries. Choose ranch dressing instead for a saving of 130 calories.

Order seltzer with lemon instead of a sweet soda. You?ll save 310 calories. Forget mayonnaise and sauces, and you can save up to 170 calories per sandwich. These are all ways that you can still stick to your plan of weight loss. You can still count on the simplicity of fast-food occasionally. Just keep it simple and smart.
