“The need to be united with someone who provides friendship, love, support, and emotional balance is a universal phenomenon.” It is human nature to want to be with someone, to be owned, to belong. Sometimes, the activities which we usually enjoy lose their attraction when they cannot be shared. Such an activity may include some couples’ weight loss activities to being fit.

Here are some activities which you can do with your spouse in order to lose weight and keep in shape:

Exercise regularly. Exercise can range from brisk walking to jogging to engaging in sports. Walk with your spouse for 30 minutes everyday, while engaging in light conversations. Competing against other couples in sports may also be a good way to develop your teamwork and your social skills.

Prepare nutritious foods. It is better to plan your meals ahead of time, making sure that you include a considerable portion from each food group. Eat healthy and with moderation. Drink plenty of fluids. Water is still the best drink.

Get adequate amount of sleep. Sleep on a schedule. Go to bed at about the same time each night and establish your bedtime routine.

Share goals. “A goal properly set is halfway reached.” Set goals with your partner. You’ll see how it is so much better to brainstorm and direct yourselves towards a common goal.

Motivate each other. Each partner can do a lot to improve his or her companion’s self-esteem. Motivate; do not criticize. Words of approval and support, praise, and demonstrations of respect help improve a person’s self-concept.

Indeed, working out with your spouse makes it so much easier to commit yourself to the activity. You are not only spending time with the one you love, but you are also helping each other keep fit and stay healthy.
