Three Likable Colognes for Men

By Lara Fletcher | Oct 7, 2009

I’ve always been a sucker for a nicely scented cologne. My boyfriend always jokes with me that it’s his cologne that originally drew me to him. Maybe it was. I do remember letting him know that he smelled good when I first met him. He’s worn the same few fragrances ever since, and I still love them all to this day.

I’m here to help you figure out which cologne might be the best option if you’re in search of a gift for your significant other. While I could go on for days with a list that he’d enjoy, I’m going to limit it to just a short few here. I think any one of these should do the trick.

One such cologne that might do the job is Dark Blue. This cologne, which is made by the famous Hugo Boss, has warm spices radiating from its core, with a touch of fruit to go with it. I’ve always been a big fan of this cologne and I think you’d like it too.

The bottle is a darker color. Can you guess which one that might be? If there’s any cologne that I had to compare the smell of it to, I’d say that it resembles Polo Sport with a little more spice.

Next on my list is Blue Jeans, made by Versace. The famous (now classic) cologne that comes inside a tin can is still tremendously popular nowadays, as people have been wearing this winner for years. Its sweet fragrance really can’t be explained without smelling it yourself.

If you don’t like something sweet, you might want to look into Dark Blue or the next cologne on my list. This is probably an acquired taste, and if it’s not to your liking, you should definitely avoid it.

Lastly, I’d look into Safari, the very cologne that won me over with my current boyfriend. This is an extremely masculine cologne that has a bit of a musky scent, but it’s one that I’ve always loved. It’s a classic at this point, as it’s probably been around for at least 15 or 20 years, and it still remains popular today.

The list of potential candidates for your boyfriend’s next cologne is naturally much bigger than this, though I do feel that this is an adequate starting point. Any one of these should be more than fine, and from here it comes down to personal preferences.
