Of all the different kinds of bridal jewelry available, nothing is more intriguing, more elegant, or classier as the wedding necklace. Ever since the beginning of time, when wedding ceremonies formally began, this accessory was and still is all the rage among brides and the rest of the bridal party.
The most popular types of necklace among brides are those made of pearls. Every bride wishes to own this piece of jewelry because it not only allows them to exude elegance and style, but it somehow distinguishes them from the classical or traditional air of weddings. There is also something about the texture and color of the pearl, that makes it suit perfectly to every woman wearing it on her Wedding Day.
Pearls are a classic form of jewelry, whether it is for weddings or not, although they do make the best accessories for the bride and the rest of the bridal party.
There are many different designs and styles for the necklace and it all depends on the theme of the wedding, and the color complementing the theme.
A wedding necklace can also come in different forms. There is the choker, which is basically a very long necklace that is eventually carefully wrapped around the neck, so as to make it look wider. The more traditional form is the single thread, wherein the pearls are in one thread, and is relatively shorter than the choker.
One most popular form of pearl necklace these days is the drop pendant. This is fashioned with a silver thread or chain suspending a single drop or pearl pendant. When you wear this necklace, you will notice that the pearl pendant more or less suspends near the bosom. There are also other forms available, like the twisted and hand-knotted.
The beauty about this accessory is that can be complemented with other forms of bridal jewelry. When accentuated with other accessories, the bridal look will somehow be harmonized in look. A necklace, especially a pearl one, is great to wear together with other forms of pearl jewelries, such as bracelets, earrings or ear studs, and even tiaras.
Another thing that makes pearl necklaces so nice to use in weddings is that one has a lot of variety to choose from. You may choose either from authentic pearls (which can be little pricey, as they are authentic), cultured pearls (relatively okay in terms of price), and simulated or artificial pearls (relatively the cheapest of the three).
What makes the natural or authentic pearls a little more expensive is that they can come in a wide range of colors, from iridescent white, cream, light or dark pink, grey, creamy white, and even a very dark black color (a very rare color indeed). The simulated or artificial ones may also have a color range, but they are very easily found out if natural or not.
Weddings are traditional ceremonies and it should be. The bride, the groom or both of them need to be customary. As pearls are a conventional accent to jewelry, then it would be best to enhance the whole bridal appearance with perhaps a pearl wedding necklace.
