How To Use Aromatherapy For The House-home And Bedroom

By Adam Fowler | Nov 1, 2009

Providing a relaxing environment for yourself and family is important. Use Aromatherapy for the house-home and bedroom to accomplish your goal.

If you have pets or are tired of the strong and often hazardous smells that most store bought cleaners have, try using oils provided by nature.

The natural cleaning supplies furnished by nature are pine oil, lemon oil, grapefruit oil, tea tree oil, frankincense oil and lavender oil. Give these oils a try instead.

Start by filling a spray bottle with water. Add either grapefruit oil, lavender oil or pine oil to the bottle. These oils are known absorb and mask any odors from pets or smoking. Use those oils for your air freshener.

For bathroom and kitchen cleaning, disinfectants are the best to use. There are oils that work as disinfectants. They are frankincense, pine oil and tea tree oil. To disinfect these rooms, use borax or baking soda mixed with water and the oil of your choosing in a spray bottle.

Shampoo your carpets with lemon oil. Add more lemon oil to the water than what you would put in a spray bottle. Giving you the same, if not better, results than carpet shampoo.

If a certain aroma brings back memories, it is because your sense of smell is connected to the pleasure center of the brain, also known as the limbic system. This area is in control of emotions, hunger, memories, sex drive and sensory experiences.

To add some more relaxing aromas to your home, try lavender oil, rose oil or frankincense.

Lavender oil can help get rid of headaches, ease depression and help you relax.

Rose oil is also a mood elevator and has a light floral scent.

Frankincense is more relaxing and can help to create a calm atmosphere.

Creating a mood with aromatherapy oils will stimulate your lover’s sensual side, alleviating any tension.

In trying to attract a mate or just to smell good, we use lotions, colognes and perfumes. In some instances these smell also evoke memories from days gone by.

Patchouli, sandalwood, rose and agarwood act as aphrodisiacs. The most powerful in the group is agarwood. If you prefer a warmer, spicy aroma, try ginger. It is also mentioned in the Kama sutra.

After marrying, Indonesian couples will spread the ylang ylang flower on their bed. This flower provides a sedative and euphoric effect on the nervous system.

If there are performance problems in the bedroom, yohimbe oil can be used to activate your libido and create more stamina.

You and your partner should make the final decision on which aromatherapy scents you prefer. Get creative by adding the oil to bathwater, heating it up or giving a massage. Just remember choosing and using the correct oils is imperative.
