Can Internal purpose be regarded the same as destiny? In the sense yes, in that we are able to do very little about it in the personality degree, within this life span. Our Soul objective is created by ourselves but was set out in earlier lifetimes and is presently unfolding. So within this lifetime we can do little else but align with it and reside harmoniously, or attempt and resist the calling and reside disharmoniously! (Even experiencing disharmony may be needed for our Soul’s growth!) In our birth chart the rising indicator, or ascendant, indicates our Internal purpose. It is our ‘Soul Sign’.
Knowing, aligning with and expressing our Soul’s Objective is our Life’s work. Many people fulfil their Internal Purpose without even getting mindful of it, or necessarily being on a particularly ‘spiritual’ route. Perhaps this is what we experience as destiny, when our Soul’s journey appears to be over and above the reach of our person awareness.
For instance The Soul Indicator of the USA is Aquarius(1), and the Soul Indicator of President Obama is Aquarius. Is it a ‘coincidence’ that the American individuals chose to elect an Aquarian Internal, to lead a nation (the most influential nation in the world at this time) that also has an Aquarian Team Soul? Particularly at this particular point in history when, astrologically, we’re entering the Age of Aquarius? Or could it be Success? Could it be an alignment of individual Internal purpose with that from the bigger group?
There are examples in every loved ones and neighborhood of individuals living and expressing their Soul purpose without having being mindful of it. I know a humble, useful, and quite shy businessman who would never consider himself over a spiritual route of any kind. (Nor would he think significantly of Astrology!) He has Most cancers Increasing so his Internal purpose is to ‘build a lighted home and dwell therein’. He wouldn’t consider himself a humanitarian, yet his Aquarian sun sign led him into a form of team assistance. (Humanitarianism and group service are Aquarian values) In creating his business, he employed the individuals closest to him: pals, family, and neighbours, in the small, poor, community with higher unemployment.
Even though he didn’t set out to ‘be a humanitarian’ his Aquarian strategy to company by recruiting from the group that he currently belonged to, had unintended humanitarian consequences. There’s now a stable core within this community of people with homes, work and families. Without having his input who knows what could have happened here in the neighbourhood that was deteriorating into unemployment, drug and alcohol abuse? His strategy raised the status of a neighbourhood, created a stable framework, created work and brought individuals together with a shared purpose to form a close-knit and supportive neighborhood. The fact that this was carried out within the context of ‘family and neighbours’ is definitely an expression of his Most cancers Soul: Cancer may be the indicator of the house and loved ones. So although he doesn’t think of it in these terms he is in himself being, and producing, a ‘light’ in his neighborhood. His house. Completely in alignment with his Soul objective.
If we can be fulfilling our Internal purpose without having getting aware, is there any stage in finding out about our Soul objective and developing awareness? The answer depends on the point of our Soul’s improvement. For several of us, Internal awareness may not be our path in this life span, and so we wouldn’t really feel drawn to pursue the matter, as in the instance from the businessman above. For some the path involves developing conscious attention of our Soul work and for other people this includes a conscious knowledge of Internal.
It might be true that you are probably fulfilling your success anyway, and it may also be part of your Internal work in this lifetime to realize more deeply what that means, and to begin consciously producing your long term Soul path: your long term destinies!
