Some men see dating as an obstacle course. They have to navigate their ways through a series of seemingly never ending challenges just to get the girl. Plus, there’s the whole women are complicated stereotype. Many men see women as being mysterious, impenetrable creatures whom they can never please. So the big quandary is how to find the girl of your dreams? What’s the trick to finding the right girl? How does a guy be the perfect date without succumbing to his natural instincts? Although it seems like a veritable quagmire, dating isn’t that tough.
Dating is really a simple affair. Although theres really no definitive guidebook, there are things you can keep in mind while on the dating circuit.
An important thing to remember is to tone it down. Often, a girl has unrealistic expectations. They may think a girl is more than she really is, or they may get ahead of themselves way too fast. It’s unrealistic behavior. The best thing to do is to keep a level head. Remain calm.
Grow up. This applies to both guys and gals, but girls do tend to mature faster. This means cleaning up your act. Dont think that your flaws or sloppy habits make you somehow charming or more real. Be prepared to take responsibility for your actions. Stop drinking like a college kid. When youre sober, the choices you make are all your own. And good things can happen from there.
Make your date feel important. Heres another nugget that goes both ways. People like to feel special. Its a really simple fact. Mutual appreciation is important. If you dont appreciate your SO or potential SO then things probably arent on a very good track.
Perhaps you’ve heard that being a gentleman is out of fashion. But it’s not. Open the door for your lady when you go into a restaurant or when she’s getting out of a car. Offer her your jacket if it’s brisk outside. Courtesy and good manners are always welcome.
Appreciate your date. Pay attention to her. Show her affection. These three A’s will get you far. It’s important that you show your date that you respect her, that you listen to her and that she matters and not simply as a sexual object. Show her you care. It really does wonders.
Don’t dismiss unconventional date ideas. Dates that don’t follow the dating rules can often lead to more interesting experiences. Don’t diss what you don’t know.
Keep the positive vibes flowing. No one likes a negative Nelly or Ned. Even if youre date doesnt go as planned, being a grouch or killjoy will ensure that you probably wont end up on another date. And who knows, you may be missing out on something great.
Its probably not a great idea to talk about an ex or a string of exs. Also, dont take your date to a place where theres a lot of eye candy. You wont be able to fully concentrate and your date will probably feel awkward.
