To Build Trust In A Relationship Try These 7 Ways

By Jeremi Hani | May 10, 2009

Are you aware that there are 7 distinct ways to build trust in a relationship? Time and again, the things we usually think first are not the same things that make a relationship works. For instance, do you presume that you always need to spice things up? You are mistaken! Being predictable is more vital than variety in a relationship. The abiding 7 ways are fail-safe to grow your bond by developing the point of trust in a relationship.

Firstly, as I stated in the opening paragraph, you must be predictable. This goes in contradiction of the universal notion that you need to stir things up to keep the romance flourishing. In no doubt, going to the newest restaurant or giving a surprise gift can be pleasant, but in particular, we require things to be consistent and fixed in order to make our relationships work. Think about that trust in a relationship is built on being dependable day in and day out.

Next, you have to make certain that your words continually match your message. This means that the words you utter to your partner must match your body language. If you claim that you are happy but you are scowling, your partner possibly would not hear your words for he or she sees the opposite. Your significant other needs to be able to have trust in what you are saying. With the words matching the message, you build trust in your relationship.

Third, you need to have a fundamental belief in your partners competency. If you don’t you won’t have the trust in a relationship that you need. When lovingly communicated, the truth is never destructive. When you do not believe that your partner is competent at some things (or indeed, anything), you violate the trust in a relationship.

As much as possible, do not keep any secrets. For it can destroy the trust in your relationship. Just be honest and open to your partner. Expect that everything you know will eventually come out. While secrets engulf a large amount of your energy, instead of this, you could use the energy to build the trust in your relationship.

Fifth, don’t be afraid to let your partner know what your needs are. Don t make him or her guess what you need. Let them know. It is okay to be self-centered as long as you are not selfish. Indeed, if you are reluctant to assert your needs, you may go overboard in the opposite direction and smother your partner.

Sixth, you need to learn to say no. When your significant other voices his or her needs, which is a good thing. But you do not also need to say yes to something. A partner can not appreciate you if you never say no. Declining to be conquered to the other persons willpower actually builds trust in a relationship.

As a final point, always pursue growth. When you plant a flower, you start on by digging in the dirt. Digging in the earth of our relationships can every so often cause pain. But, all through that pain, we set up the soil for future growth. Do not be fearful of turmoil, crisis, or questions. These develop into the nourishment for growth and change. Embrace what is difficult.

When you make a decision to work on trust in a relationship, you are guaranteed to encounter a little pain. But, as you labor through this pain, you will not only become stronger as an individual, you will also strengthen your relationship.
