The stares. The complements. The feeling of empowerment. These are the feelings you get when you get a new haircut. People look at you different and treat you different when you feel better about yourself.
When you feel better about yourself, you carry yourself with confidence. The difference a new hair creates in your life, can have momentum that can change your life for the better.
I seemed to be shining with an inner confidence that bestowed me with the energy of a permanently fresh haircut. And the best part about this was that the improvement techniques I was using were freely available to anyone who wanted them.
Persistence and dedication are the only tools you are going to need to achieve results. Listed below are 5 guidelines that will help you attain your goals and overcome obstacles.
ACTION #1: Embrace the Pain
Your are going to feel vulnerable. Any time you take on a new life altering task in your personal life, you are going to feel susceptible. Remember anything worth doing, is going to take time, practice, and patience. Get ready to fall and try again.
Quoting Arnold Schwarzenegger, “The last three or four reps is what makes the muscles grow. This area of pain divides a champion from someone who is not a champion. That’s what most people lack, having the guts to go on and just say they’ll go through the pain no matter what happens.”
Make the personal vow to embrace that pain right now and you will be one step closer to superstardom.
GUIDELINE #2: Take Off the Lid
Your biggest enemy is yourself. Next time you are in a new situation, be award of what your inner dialog is saying. People impose limitations on themselves anytime they start something new out of fear. Controlling your inner dialog by changing what you tell yourself, can vastly change they way you react to a new situation.
Start monitoring your limiting beliefs today and begin to see what you are really capable of.
ACTION #3: Understand that Obstacles are Part of the Journey
How bad do you want it? Once you come to the understanding that failure is part of the process, be ready to fail. You can only fail upward. It all depends on how bad you want something.
How bad you want something, will push you beyond what you though capable of.
TIP #4: Be a Beginner and Be an Expert
You are by no means too superior to learn something new. Learn to become humbled by new tasks that seem to complicated.
Never underestimate the fundamentals. Always aim to master of any simple skill. Any new skill takes time. Remember to keep your mind open.
GUIDELINE #5: Dream BIG
No matter where you are from, we all dream of something better. With hard work, persistence, and time, anyone can achieve their dreams.
The older we get, the more our peers and the media destroy our dreams. When you were younger, anything was possible. Your dreams are still possible. Push beyond your limits and you dreams will become reality.
Ask yourself, what are your dreams NOW…because you must have those dreams to bring them into reality. And you can. And you will.
