Most people know that Ericksonian hypnosis is a wonderful tool for therapy.
Yet, since when did Ericksonian Hypnosis become a part of The Art of Influence and Persuasion? How exactly did a form of therapy get turned into the best form of Mind Control the world has ever seen?
Most people believe that it all goes back to the male seduction community. Some guy came up with the idea of adapting the language patterns invented by Milton Erickson to seduce women. So basically, the idea was to use hypnotic language to make women to fall in love with men.
Obviously, the idea of using hypnotic language to seduce women failed, but this doesn’t mean that a huge trend had begun that caused countless hypnotist to come out of the closet with promises of giving people secret powers through the secrets of Ericksonian Hypnosis.
This development in the persuasion industry created several new forms of linguistic styles of hypnosis that are referred to as “conversational” or “covert”. But no matter what these new forms of hypnosis are called, they simply do not help you persuade people.
Why? Because Ericksonian hypnosis techniques were developed in clinical settings and so they require a clinical setting to operate in. What happens when you take a shark out of the ocean? Well, the same thing happens when you take Ericksonian Hypnosis outside of its therapeutic context–it’s doomed.
It’s hard to believe that some hypnotist were so greedy for some extra cash that they repackaged the magnificent, therapeutic works of Dr. Milton Erickson and falsely sold them under the names of “mind control” and “persuasion”.
So the male seduction community doesn’t use language patterns anymore because the men who attempted to do so became a laughing stock. The attempt to use Ericksonian Hypnosis outside of a clinical setting was a complete failure.
The most modern forms of persuasion and seduction are revolving around practicing social strategies and the demonstration of human behavior patterns.
